The available options/trim packages/option packages are better than most other Fords, but they still force you into getting options you don't want just to get options you do want...
I'd like to order an SE because it doesn't have all of the chrome, but the push-button start isn't available on the SE. The only way to get push-button start is to get an SES with the Upgrade Package that comes with even more chrome... Ugh! One of the features that I really wanted brings every chrome trim piece with it! One thing I'm really really happy to see though... Heated CLOTH seats!! Not a fan of full leather seats, but huge fan of heated seats! Perfect! My Fiesta is coming in at $21,600. (SES, Manual, no leather, 17" wheels) More than I thought it would be, and I can't even select some of the options that I thought I'd be able to (Sunroof, Aero Package). I read they are going to continue adding options, so I'm going to wait and see, but I never really thought I'd pay more for a Fiesta than I did my SVT Focus. I also never thought that a Fiesta with all of the options would top $24,000... Crazy! I was thinking about holding off for a while to see if a SVT/ST version was in the pipeline. Now, I'm beginning to think that even if there were, I don't think I could afford it! Don't get me wrong, I love the Fiesta and I think it's a great car. It's just that I had been thinking all along that the FiestaMovement cars were closer to being equal to a $20k US car than a $22k car. $2,000 is substantial, especially when in this price range! I'm not going to reserve a Fiesta yet, but I may still in a few months once I see some of the other options/accessories on the site. I also want to see the new Focus and it's pricing before making a decision. Last edited by blurbyu; 12-03-2009 at 12:58 PM. |

No go on the Fiesta. Overpriced from what I've seen so far.
I'm going with the all new 2011 MKIII Focus. I think it will be a better value plus you get that rockin Euro C1 or new C2 platform. Ford dealers will definitely not be making deals on the Fiesta especially in 2010. There's already sticker shock on this board and the car hasn't even officially gone on sale yet. Wait till it officially goes on sale...people are going to be in for a rude awakening price wise. Ford may have overestimated the U.S. consumer's appetite for such a small car with higher end pricing. Believe me, I desire Ford to have a ton of success with this car. They might be over reaching here a bit though. We'll see what happens. |

I also have a bit of stick shock as my Fiesta would be about 18k and I was wanting 16k max.
That said, I'm not sure if that was realistic. Looking at the Fiesta against the Fit there are some nice things on the Fiesta you just don't get on the Fit, even the Fit Sport. Mostly tech features, like Sync and the nifty LED screen. I also want a sunroof and I don't see that available yet, so I'll need to wait until it is. |

Yes, you are correct, it will go up in price. I guess what I'm sort of looking at is the fact that the Focus will be a far more substantial platform and obviously a bit bigger than the Fiesta since it is a C-segment car. I just think with the new Focus you will get more value for the dollar than with the Fiesta. Hopefully pricing for the all new Focus will be mentioned during its world debut at the 2010 NAIAS next month. I also have some concern in the back of my mind, for some reason that Ford will eventually end up phasing out the Fiesta here in the U.S. because of low sales down the road. I could be very wrong here and I certainly hope that I am.

Well I got tired of trying to reserve online and just called the phone number and did it. I reserved a Black Hatch SES with Powershift,Upgrade Package which includes Intelligent Access with push button start, heated front seats, perimeter alarm and chrome beltline trim and rear hatch mouldings. I asked the person if I could deleted the chrome trim and she said she would check and let me know. Black leather interior and euro rear spoiler. and it came in at 20670 sticker. Unlike some people that think this is high for the equipment that is included then you should try the build and price feature for Honda Fit. I did and it came in at 19365 and it doesn't have leather heated seating, SYNC 3.0 features or Intelligent Access or pushbutton start. It also doesn't have a 6 speed or get the fuel mileage of Fiesta and it only has a 1.5L
I also asked her about the body kit and she said she would have to get back with me on that also. I think based on how it is listed as a Ford accessory that it would probably be a dealer installed item. Reserving a car doesn't cost anything and you aren't obligated to buy until you sign the buyers order and you have until May 3 2010 to do that. Last edited by LMTech; 12-03-2009 at 03:51 PM. |

That would be my guess as to what it means.

kind of. The mirrors are not convexed, but there is a seperate mirror element that does the same thing as the EU convex.
I also had sticker shock when I built mine, so I may ditch the 17" wheels for the 16". I will use my 17" axis wheels on the Fiesta and use the 16" wheels in the winter. This will allow me to sell my current winter wheel/tire combo and put that money towards modifications to the Fiesta. In no way is the Fiesta overpriced. You get a ton of stuff and an interior that is far better than cars costing way more. This is a premium B-segment car, not a cheap car. I am planning on having mine for many years, so I will load it up with options.
